To commemorate the historic rise of Anchorage from the first sale of town lots in 1915 to Alaska’s largest city in 2015, 49 Writers will publish a memoir anthology—Anchorage Remembers: 1915-2015—that celebrates the history of Anchorage in the words of those who have lived it. We are currently offering a series of FREE memoir writing workshops taught by local writers to help interested individuals with a story idea for submission. The first takes place at the Pioneer School House on 3rd Avenue, Saturday & Sunday, 1-3 pm, January 25 & 26 and February 1 & 2 (8 hours total).
We are looking for new or experienced writers 50 years and older who are interested in learning about memoir writing, have a story to tell or an idea for a story, want to receive feedback on their writing, and would like to submit a short personal story (up to 1,000 words) they have written to the Anchorage Remembers anthology.
More information can be found on the 49 Writers website at http://www.49writingcenter.
