Have you submitted yet to Poems in Place?

What might happen when the old knowing that lives inside poetry marries the voices of wind, river, forest, the pull of the tide, or the quiet rhythm of a lake and is available to all who pass by?

Seeking Poems: Poems in Place, a unique collaboration between Alaska Center for the Book, Alaska State Parks, a steering committee of poets and writers, and residents of Alaska, will place a poem written by an Alaskan writer in each of the seven regions of the Alaska State Park’s system in the coming years.

Poems in Place will be accepting poems, both original work and nominated poems by other Alaskan writers for Totem Bight State Historical Park, Ketchikan, and Chena River State Recreation Area, Fairbanks from January 15 to March 15, 2013.  An honorarium will be paid to the winning poets.

For more information, contest rules and entry form, please visit Poems in Place at the Alaska Center for the Book.
